Microsoft Office 365 Student eMail Account
A CUNY School of Professional Studies (SPS) Office 365 email account will be created for all registered CUNY SPS students (permit students from other CUNY campuses will use their home school account) prior to the launch of each academic semester and will be the primary means by which faculty, staff and fellow students communicate with you while enrolled at CUNY SPS.
It is of the utmost importance that you check this email account regularly and use it when communicating with your faculty, advisors, and staff at the school. This will ensure timely and secure delivery of information, as well as, immediately identifying you as a CUNY SPS student.
Access Information - Office 365 student eMail
Your email address will be a combination of your first name + '.' + last name + last two numbers of your EMPLID + @spsmail.cuny.edu.
For example:
Robert Smith: robert.smith78@spsmail.cuny.edu
Roberta Taylor-Haley: roberta.taylor-haley23@spsmail.cuny.edu.
A temporary password will be sent from the CUNY Help Desk to the email originally associated with your admissions application. Accounts will be created generally three weeks prior to the start of the academic semester and only for registered students of the CUNY School of Professional Studies.

Microsoft Office 365 Software Suite
MS Office 365 gives students access to the same Office 365 tools that businesses around the world use every day to stay productive and on top of their work. Office 365 empowers you by delivering the tools you need to prepare coursework, create sophisticated reports and presentations, and collaborate over the web.
As part of the CUNY enterprise agreement with Microsoft, every CUNY student with a CUNY Office 365 mail account is entitled to a full copy of the Microsoft Office suite of applications. The latest version of the Microsoft Office 2016 suite includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access (PC only – see note) and more. All you need to do is to log onto your SPS eMail and download up to 5 copies on your PCs, Macs, and other mobile devices, including Windows tablets and iPads. This suite of applications are available as long as you are a registered student with CUNY SPS and access will be disabled once you are no longer enrolled in courses for the current semester.

Note: Microsoft Access is not available for the MAC operating system but is accessible to Mac users by first downloading and installing the Virtual Desktop Application and then selecting from one of the available applications. You will need to use your CUNYfirst ID followed by @login.cuny.edu, and your CUNYfirst password to access the application. The Access software is accessible by selecting the Windows start button at the bottom left-hand corner of the screen and searching for the MicrosoftAccess 2013 option.
